Are you looking for free WordPress themes?
Often people who build a website for the first time don’t want to spend too much on a theme.
And that’s fine because there are more than enough free WordPress themes to be found on the internet.
But not every theme is as good. They are dated, have limited options or don’t look nice.
Still… if you look a little further, you will find enough themes to build your website.
Twice I have updated a customer’s website with the free Twenty Thirteen theme. The theme is 5 years old but it still works fine.
If you make the right choice for a theme, you can enjoy it for years.
I went looking for free WordPress themes which are also easy to install.
I only looked for themes which are located in the official WordPress.org website Theme catalogue. You don’t need to download these separately, they are located in the cms under:
Display > Themes
When you then click on ‘Add new’ at the top, you will get the list with free WordPress themes.
Now you move your mouse to the theme which you choose and then a button with ‘Install’ will appear.
Finally you click on this and the theme will be installed.
Free WordPress themes
I have chosen 9 themes from this catalogue which are good. With which you can get a good start as a beginner.
I have also chosen a couple which have both a free and paid version. Should your website grow, then you can start out with a free version, but switch to the paid version because it has more functions and more active support.
