Photo editor Paint.NET is one of the best and most versatile free photo editing programs which I like to work with. Because good and optimized images are important for your website.
These days, you can no longer create a massive website without a good photo editing program.
Usually, your computer already has basic photo editing programs, such as Paint or the standard photo editor. But these tools are often limited in their capabilities.

To create a good site, you need a broader photo editor. These days, images are really important and you cannot go without a good and extensive photo editor such as paint.NET any longer.
What can you do with it?
- It is easy to make, cut and paste photos to custom size.
- You can make the background of your photos or logo transparent. This is important, especially for a logo.
- Save the photo in the correct extensions (.jpg, .png, .gif, etc.)
- You can often get to know the hex colour of a colour (this is indicated with #45rt44)
- You easily turn photos 5 percent to the right for example.
Just like the professional software programs, paint.NET works with layers (levels within an image) which displays it clearly.
All of these are functions that you can execute with paint.NET. Although the functions are not as extensive as with the professional program Photoshop, Paint.NET is in fact free and is also updated regularly.
There are also a lot of plugins available for the program (so called add-ons), in order to get more features.

The program can be downloaded HERE. You use it a lot, so it would be best to put it on your computer.
The only thing that could be considered a downside, is the fact that there is no telephone helpdesk for support. But you can easily look for solutions and manuals on how it works on the internet.
Photofiltre as alternative
Another photo editing program is Photofiltre which is comparable, but has less options. However, I do find Photofiltre more user-friendly.
But they are basically the same.
