Making a video for your own company seems like an expensive thing. But… now there’s a tool with which you can create your own video within an hour. Really. What it’s called? Powtoon.
Powtoon is a website with which you can make animated videos. You can get a long way with the free version. If you want more options, then you can take the premium subscription.
There are a lot of options. You can make a video for your company, to promote a product, a video to show statistics, a training video or a personal video. There are six categories: business, marketing & sales, personal, education, training and events.
Make your own video
Powtoon already has a large amount of standard videos which you can edit. Other texts, images, fonts; it’s all possible.
The benefit is that you don’t have to come up with an extensive script for your video yourself, that’s already been done. You just choose the script that suits you most.
It’s also possible to create your own video entirely. But this is a lot more work because you have to think of everything yourself. There is a screenshot below on how to set it up.
On the left side are the takes, in the middle is the video. On the right is a library with all kinds of figures, symbols, photos, buttons and lots more to edit your video.
There are quite a lot of options. You can for example determine how long a text or image appears, at which moment, etc. You can also easily drag the image to another position.
Furthermore you can add a voice over and there is a choice of music. In short, the average amateur will be able to create his or her own video.
You can then upload the video to Youtube in the free version. In the paid version you can also save the video to your own computer.
I have created a introduction video for WPjournalist. It took me around an hour.
